Dylan's daycare class has "Splash Days" every Tuesday this Summer, where they wear their swimsuits and have various water toys to play with on the playground (a little pool, sprinklers, a water table, etc.) For the first couple of sessions, Dylan absolutely HATED it and spent the whole hour crying and trying to avoid the water. So when my parents were visiting a couple of weeks ago and we decided to take the boys to a water park for the first time, I wasn't sure how Dylan was going to react. My Mom and I tried to lead him gently into the most shallow part of the pool but as soon as his feet got wet, he threw a fit and ended up in a lawn chair with my Mom. After he watched his big brother having a great time in the water, we tried to introduce him slowly into it again, but this time he just plowed right in and was waist deep in water in a matter of seconds and seemed to love it. When we were all getting out to go get some lunch at the pool-side cafe, he had another fit and started crying "Wa-Wa! Wa-Wa!" and pointing back at the pool. Now his teachers tell me that he LOVES Splash Day and is a totally different child than he was a few weeks ago!
