Fun at the Farm
Last Sunday, we took the boys to a big farm that has a lot of different play areas for kids. Dylan and Evan loved it! It was an extremely hot day, so Dylan was a sweaty mess about 20 minutes after we got there, but he had a lot of fun. He especially seemed to like playing in the big corn crib. Since that seemed to be the coolest (temperature-wise) place on the farm, we ALL loved playing in the corn crib!

Mother's Day
Here's my Mother's Day gift from Dylan that his teachers helped him make at daycare. He painted the background and then one of the teacher's helped him leave his handprint on the paper. Sweet! I attended a "Mother's Day Tea" (which was really lemonade) at the daycare on Friday and first went into Dylan's class. He was busily chomping down on a big sugar cookie when I walked in. He shouted "MAMA!" (with food in his mouth) and ran over to me. I walked back to his table and sat in one of their little chairs and he promptly crawled into my lap and finished his cookie. He kept giving me hugs and kisses and seemed so happy to have me there with him during snack time. Then we headed outside to where Evan's class was having their Mother's Day celebration on the playground. Dylan loved playing with the big kids and was trying to climb on all of their equipment.
On Mother's Day, we headed up to the Catoctin Zoo and Wildlife Preserve near Frederick, Maryland. The zoo had a safari ride that sounded pretty cool but I'd read online that you had to be at least 3 feet tall to participate, so that left Dylan out. I told Tom he could take Evan on that and Dylan and I would just walk around the zoo. Right after we arrived at the zoo and I bought the admittance tickets, Tom was told that there were 2 more spots left on the safari ride that was leaving in 5 minutes, so they were immediately whisked away on a golf cart and driven to the loading area for the big safari truck. Dylan was horrified to see his Dad and brother being taken away from us and immediately started wailing and screaming "DA DA!!!!!! EVAY!!!!!" I finally calmed him down with a snack of goldfish crackers and raisins and we found a leopard, a giraffe and a bunch of goats, sheep and llamas to check out. He enjoyed yelling "Baaa!" at all of the above except the leopard, to which he kept saying "No No, Meow!" This is something I inadvertently started with our cat at home, when I was scolding her for something or other and now every time he sees a cat (domestic, stuffed toy or even a BIG cat, apparently), he calls them a "Meow" and gives them a good scolding. So cute! It was a beautiful day and we all really enjoyed it there, but unfortunately towards the end, Dylan took a tumble on a gravel pathway and bunged little his face up. :(
Accident aside, we had a great time!!
