Day Out with Mommy

I took Dylan to the mall yesterday while Tom took Evan to the movies. We had our standard Chick-Fil-A for lunch and then I took Dylan on his very first carousel ride. Evan was about Dylan's age (16 months) when he had his first ride and he immediately LOVED it. Dylan was not as decisive. He seemed to experience every conceivable emotion from joy to terror - and everything in between - during his 3 minute whirl. I also took him on the train ride, which he'd been on a couple of times before with me and Evan. This time we were in the open car and he was a little unsure about that at first, too. he did seem to start to enjoy it towards the end and even said "Choo Choo" a couple of times. Turns out he loves Mrs. Fields Cinnamon Sugar cookies as much as Evan does and he finished off a whole one by himself! It was a fun outing!

...and a Happy New Year!

We have had the craziest weather so far for a January...from 16 to 65 degrees and everything in between, plus a bit of snow. We had a really warm day last Saturday so the boys got to outside and play again, which was awesome!! Dylan really had a great time on the tennis court. He found a can of new tennis balls that someone had left behind and he really enjoyed carrying them around and handing them to me, over and over again. He also enjoyed chasing after his big brother. He's actually getting pretty good at running now.
